Fair Use Statement

JSNE is a non-partisan, non-commercial organization driven by a commitment to educate the community. JSNE’s mission of fact-finding, connecting the dots, and storytelling involves aggregating content created by trusted professional journalism in the public domain. Without JSNE’s careful aggregation, the public might remain unaware of the ‘whole story’. Occasionally, JSNE may share copyrighted materials owned by third parties, which may not always have explicit approval from the copyright holders. Under the Copyright Act, Section 107, limited use of copyrighted content is permitted without permission for purposes like education, criticism, commentary, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research. These so-called Fair Uses are allowed even if the use could otherwise be considered infringement.
